Preparations to celebrate "Kashmir Solidarity Day" are underway in full swing
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd February, 2025) Preparations are in full swing for the “Kashmir Solidarity Day” celebrated on February 5 every year in Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and around the world to express unwavering support for the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir illegally occupied by India. According to Kashmir Media Service, the call to celebrate this day has been given by the Government of Pakistan.
Political parties, activists, people of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistani embassies abroad will organize events in support of the right of self-determination of Kashmiris, which India has been denying for the last 78 years. On this day, special prayers will be offered for the martyrs of Kashmir, as well as demonstrations, rallies and other programs will be organized to highlight the plight of Kashmiris under Indian occupation.
February 5 will be a public holiday across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. As Kashmir Solidarity Day approaches, posters featuring Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Pakistani leaders and messages of solidarity are being pasted across the Kashmir Valley, including Srinagar. These posters thank the government of Pakistan for its strong advocacy of the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people on international platforms.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, has called on the international community to intervene to stop India’s Hindutva agenda and cruel tactics in the occupied territory. The spokesperson said that the Kashmiri people have made unparalleled sacrifices in the freedom struggle since 1947. He thanked the people of Pakistan for their continued support to the oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
An Indian Army Captain Rudra Pratap Singh has died under mysterious circumstances in Akhnoor area of Jammu. The incident has raised questions about a number of mysterious deaths in the Indian army in the past few months. Speakers at a conference in Oldham, UK, have urged the international community to put diplomatic pressure on India to stop human rights abuses in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The event was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Right to Self-Determination International.
