Makkah (Point news today / Pakistan Point News - 10th February, 2025) Saudi Arabia has banned children from accompanying pilgrims during the Hajj. According to Gulf News, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that Saudi Arabia has banned children from accompanying pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj season. In this regard, the ministry says that the aim of this decision is to protect children from the dangers associated with the intense crowding that occurs every year. This measure was taken to ensure the safety and well-being of children and to protect them from any harm during the Hajj, while this year too, priority will be given to those who have not performed the Hajj before. It has been reported that registration for the 2025 Hajj season has been officially opened for Saudi citizens and residents through the Nasq app and the official online portal. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the booking of Hajj packages on the Nasq platform for domestic pilgrims, under which Saudi citizens and foreigners residing in the kingdom who wish to perform Hajj this year can book on the ‘Nasq’ digital platform to obtain various types of packages.
The Ministry of Hajj further says that applicants must upload correct information on the platform. Women who want to be exempted from mahram must also explain this so that they can be issued a permit without a mahram. Hajj packages for domestic pilgrims are booked on a first-come, first-served basis, so pilgrims should arrange their preferred packages, ensure that their e-wallets are topped up and finalize their selection immediately.
It is being reported that in another important development, domestic pilgrims can now pay for their Hajj package in three installments. The first payment, 20 percent of the package cost, should be made within 72 hours of booking. The second and third installments, each 40 percent of the total cost, are due on 20 Ramadan and 20 Shawwal respectively. The booking will remain unconfirmed until the final installment is paid. Invoices will be issued for each partial payment.
