Dubai (Point News Today / Pakistan Point News - 14th January, 2025) Pakistan has tightened travel rules to prevent suspicious persons from traveling abroad, especially to the UAE and other GCC countries. According to details, while addressing a luncheon organized by the Pakistan Business Council in Dubai, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan highlighted the key issues affecting trade relations between Pakistan and the UAE, travel restrictions and measures to prevent beggars from traveling abroad. However, at the same time, he also stressed the government’s commitment to improving the travel experience for Pakistani citizens and business people traveling abroad despite increasing restrictions at airports.

Jam Kamal said that Pakistan’s immigration and border control measures are being taken with a focus on efforts to prevent the travel of those who do not have proper documentation or legitimate travel purposes, including beggars, who are a particular concern in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Checks are being increased to ensure that travelers have proper documentation, including supporting documents such as hotel bookings and proof of purpose of travel.

He explained that we are preventing and monitoring other suspicious individuals, including beggars, from traveling abroad without proper documentation and supporting information. These measures are part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to ensure that travelers follow legal procedures for their travel and are not exploited by human smugglers who send them to foreign countries without legitimate employment opportunities. The government has carried out additional checks at airports to ensure that everyone traveling has a clear and documented purpose of travel.

On this occasion, the Federal Minister also highlighted the importance of training programs for workers traveling to the UAE and other GCC countries. These programs are designed to prepare individuals for the rules, regulations and workplace etiquette necessary to succeed abroad. He added that by equipping workers with the right knowledge and skills, the government aims to ensure that Pakistanis are well-prepared for their roles abroad while avoiding any cultural or legal misunderstandings. Jam Kamal said that short-term training programs are being launched as part of a broader effort to protect the well-being of Pakistani citizens working in foreign countries and to ensure that they can successfully adapt to the work environment abroad. We need to ensure that our workers are trained not only in the skills required for their jobs but also in the etiquette and legal expectations of the countries they are going to.
