Sharda (UrduPoint News Today/ Pakistan Point News - NNI. 03 January 2025) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Azad Kashmir leader and District Councilor Union Council Lawat Dr. Ghulam Muhammad has said that 95% of the beneficiaries have been deprived of the Social Protection Funds Program. The fact that a large number of widows, orphans, disabled and elderly deserving people are not included in the program is the worst injustice. The fact that Lawat Union Council does not get funds for the payment of Benazir Income Support Funds is also injustice.
In the assembly meeting held on Sunday, Neelum’s representative, Member of Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir, Minister of Information Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah, Minister of Law Mian Abdul Waheed Advocate should include 8,000 forms collected from Neelum for the Social Protection Program so that poor families can benefit.
BISP device should be provided to Fulfor Lawat. Every time women go far away to collect money, which incurs a lot of expenses and women have to walk on foot in severe cold.
If our demands are not accepted, the people will take to the streets for their rights, for which the responsibility has fallen on the MLAs and BISP administration. Talking to the media, District Councilor Dr. Ghulam Muhammad, the public representative of the previous Union Council Lawat, said that the number of people who have joined the Prime Minister’s program “Social Protection Funds” from Neelum is equivalent to a camel’s nose.
There are a large number of widows who are supported by their husbands and are raising innocent children. People are disabled due to firing on the Line of Control and then hard areas and various infectious diseases in the context of the Kashmir freedom movement. Under the Social Protection Program, a large number of elderly people are also present in Neelum Valley, which is noteworthy.
According to its vision, the Azad Kashmir government should approve the remaining 8,000 social protection forms of the people of the Neelum Valley affected by the Line of Control and benefit the citizens. He said that there is no center in Lawat for collecting money from the Benazir Income Support Program. BISP officials and MLAs should solve our problems on an urgent basis, otherwise the people of the area will take to the streets to solve their problems, for which the entire responsibility will lie with the government.
