ISLAMABAD (Point News Today / Pakistan Point News - 13th December, 2024) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the progress in cooperation between the two countries in various fields during the Pakistan-Tajikistan Joint Commission meeting and stressed on further improving ties and increasing cooperation between the two countries. According to a statement issued by the Press Wing of the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was met here on Friday by Tajik Minister for Energy Dalir Juma, who is on a visit to Pakistan to participate in the Pakistan-Tajikistan Joint Commission.


The Prime Minister, while welcoming him to Pakistan, expressed satisfaction over the progress in cooperation between the two countries in various fields during the Pakistan-Tajikistan Joint Commission meeting.

Referring to his visit to Tajikistan and his recent meetings with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Riyadh and Baku, the Prime Minister expressed his best wishes for the Tajik President and hoped that the Tajik President would visit Pakistan soon.


The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the MoUs/Agreements signed between the two countries during his visit and stressed that their timely implementation would help in further strengthening bilateral relations. The Tajik Minister thanked the Prime Minister for the warm welcome and hospitality in Pakistan and called for further improvement of ties and cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting also discussed other regional connectivity projects including CASA-1000. The two sides also agreed to further promote cooperation in the fields of communications, especially land connectivity, energy, education, and agriculture. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Investment and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Energy Owais Ahmed Leghari, Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr. Mosaddiq Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and senior government officials concerned.
