Many big names associated with the gentleman's game played the last match of their professional careers in 2024 and said goodbye to cricket, including Pakistan's Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim and Mohammad Irfan. England's 42-year-old James Anderson, who took the most wickets as a fast bowler in Test cricket with 704, announced his retirement from international cricket in May this year.
