Rawalpindi (UrduPoint News Latest. December 28, 2024) PTI founder Imran Khan has said that he will decide who will be the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, not any government official. My first, second, third and fourth names for the Chairman PAC will also be Sheikh Waqas Akram. PTI will submit its final answer for the Chairman PAC next week. According to media reports, sources have claimed that while reacting to the nomination of the Chairman Public Accounts Committee, the PTI founder has also indicated that he will resign from the chairmanship of the standing committees if he is not given the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhry had written a letter twice for the post of Chairman PAC, in response to which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had given the name of Sheikh Waqas Akram in its first reply letter, while in the second letter, the Chief Whip of the PML-N had asked for a panel of four names, on which PTI had appointed Sheikh Waqas Akram after consulting Imran Khan and it was said that our first name, second name, third name and fourth name will also be Sheikh Waqas Akram.

Sources claimed that the founder of PTI has also reprimanded the party leadership on the issue of nomination of the Public Accounts Committee. Imran Khan, while putting a full stop on the name given by him for the chairmanship of PAC, retained the name of party leader Sheikh Waqas Akram for this post and has said that he will take a decision in this regard. The founder of PTI has said that he will decide who will be the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee from PTI, Shehbaz Sharif or other government officials cannot decide it.

It may be recalled that earlier, PML-N Chief Whip Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry had written a third letter to PTI Chief Whip Aamir Dogar on the issue of the continuous delay in the formation of the Public Accounts Committee. In the letter addressed to Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, the copy of which was sent to TI, it was said that if the panel is not sent within 7 days, the government alliance will decide on the chairman of the PAC together. The PAC chairman will be elected next week in any case. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry had written in his letter that in the first two letters, a panel of 4 members was asked from you for the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, but despite the passage of ten months, the opposition has not yet sent the panel. Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also said that as the Chief Whip of the ruling party, I was under pressure from the coalition parties. The government and the coalition wanted to complete the selection process for the chairman of the PAC as soon as possible. I once again request you as the last chance to send the panel within 7 days.
