Ten people were killed when a building was targeted in the Deir al-Balah area in the central Gaza Strip.
A source in the Palestinian militant group Hamas confirmed that the head of its executive committee was killed in the attack.
Earlier, an Israeli air strike targeted an arms depot near an aid warehouse. The military said the rockets were fired from the same location.
Separately, seven Palestinians were killed and 12 others wounded in a separate Israeli strike in Gaza City.
The local civil emergency service said Saturday’s strike targeted a former school building that was being used as a shelter for the displaced.
An Israeli military spokesman said reports were being reviewed. Earlier on Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces said it had carried out an operation against Hamas militants who were operating from a school compound.
It said it was taking measures to limit civilian casualties.
Medical officials said the dead included a woman and her newborn baby. It was not immediately possible to independently confirm whether the dead were Hamas members.
A local journalist was also reported killed in another attack in Gaza City, but no further details were available.
The Israeli military said the incident was under investigation.
It should be noted that the Palestinian organization Hamas is considered a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union and several other countries, including Germany. Hamas fighters killed about 1,200 people and kidnapped more than 200 in a terrorist attack on Israel in October last year. Dozens of them are still being held by Hamas.
In response, Israel launched a large-scale ground and air operation in Gaza that is still ongoing. According to the latest figures, 44,930 Palestinians have been killed and 106,624 injured so far.
Clashes in the West Bank city of Jenin
Meanwhile, reports of clashes between Palestinian security forces and Palestinian militants in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin have been received, including one death.
Authorities in the Western-backed Palestinian Authority of President Mahmoud Abbas have continued to conduct raids in Jenin in recent days, leading to frequent clashes between them and the militants.
Jenin has also been the focus of clashes between Israeli Defense Forces and Palestinian militants.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's office said that President al-Sisi had discussed a ceasefire and the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli hostages with a visiting US delegation. The meeting in Cairo was attended by US National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan and Middle East envoy Brett McGurk.
