Islamabad (Point News Today- 11 December 2024) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Sher Afzal Marwa says that the ISPR press release has given the message that our lives are not going to be spared from the affairs of General (retd) Faiz Hameed. Faiz Hameed has been as harmful to us as General Bajwa was. Talking to Geo News, the PTI leader said that due to Faiz Hameed’s proximity, we had to pay a price in the regime change operation as well.

We are trapped because of former DG ISI General (retd) Faiz Hameed. We have not benefited from him. He said that efforts are being made to create a new and serious problem for the founder PTI. The support of the retired military officer should be solid, only sympathy is not enough, for which there is no evidence.

If there was evidence, it was necessary for them to bring it forward immediately after May 9.

It may be recalled that yesterday, former ISI chief Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed was formally charged. Court martial proceedings had been initiated against General (retd) Faiz Hameed. The Pakistan Army Public Relations Department (ISPR) said that Field General Court Martial proceedings had been initiated against Faiz Hameed and Faiz Hameed was directly charged in the next phase of the Field General Court Martial.

According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, these charges included involvement in political activities, harming the security and interests of the state by violating the Official Secrets Act, misuse of authority and government resources and causing undue harm to individuals. The ISPR also said that former DG ISI General (retd) Faiz Hameed had been formally charged.

Faiz Hameed was accused of being involved in political activities. The ISPR further said that a separate investigation was also being conducted regarding the involvement of Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed in the violent incidents related to chaos and unrest in the country during the Field General Court Martial process. Several incidents of violence and unrest were also investigated, including those related to May 9.

The investigation also included the intention and collusion of nefarious political elements in these numerous violent incidents. The ISPR said that during the Field General Court Martial process, Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed was being provided with all legal rights as per the law. According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), Field General Court Martial proceedings were initiated against Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed on August 12, 2024 under the relevant provisions of the Pakistan Army Act.
