Dubai Airport issues travel alert ahead of winter holidays

 Activities will be at their peak from the weekend of December 20 to 22, with approximately 880,000 passengers passing through.

Dubai (Point news / Pakistan Point News - 12th December, 2024) Dubai Airports Authority has issued a travel alert ahead of the winter holidays. According to Gulf News, Dubai International Airport (DXB) is ready to welcome a surge in passengers this winter holidays, with more than 5.2 million guests expected to arrive between December 13 and 31, an average of 274,000 passengers estimated per day, with Friday, December 20, expected to be the busiest day of the period, hosting about 296,000 passengers, while activities will also peak on the weekend from December 20 to 22, with an estimated 880,000 guests passing through. It is reported that 1.7 million passengers will arrive in Dubai and 1.5 million will depart, which underlines Dubai’s growing position as a top destination for international travelers. Dubai Airports is committed to ensuring a seamless travel experience for all guests during this boom. A few guidelines have been issued for travelers in the coming weeks to make their journey as smooth as possible.


Passengers have been asked to check in early, for this purpose Emirates passengers can use the Home Check-in, Early Check-in and City Check-in facilities. For other airlines, guests should arrive at least three hours before departure, keep metal objects and electronics in hand luggage, and save time by following the LAGs (liquids, aerosols and gels) regulations.


Passengers are advised that permitted portable electronic devices, power banks and spare batteries are prohibited in checked baggage and should be carried as hand luggage, use smart gates, families with children over 12 years of age can complete immigration faster through smart gates, organize travel documents to avoid any hassle, check baggage allowances and familiarize yourself with your airline’s regulations.

The advisory advises avoiding crowds by opting for the Dubai Metro for easy access to Terminals 1 and 3, saying goodbye at home as only passengers will be allowed inside the terminals during peak hours, DXB’s preparations for the winter rush reinforce its position as the world’s busiest international airport ensuring a smooth journey for all passengers.
