According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on the intervening night of 20th and 21st December, 2024, a group of Khawarij tried to attack a security forces check post in the Makeen area of ​​South Waziristan. This attempt by the Khawarij was effectively foiled by the security forces and 8 Khawarij were killed in the exchange of fire. However, 16 brave sons lost their lives fighting bravely during the intense exchange of fire.

The army spokesman said that the martyred 30-year-old Lance Naik Liaquat Ali Shaheed belongs to Kurram district.
