One-day workshop for women on the topic of "Kashmir issue and the role of the United Nations" was held

Muzaffarabad (UrduPoint News Today/ Pakistan Point News - 04th January, 2025) A one-day workshop was organized for women on the topic of “Kashmir Issue and the Role of the United Nations” organized by the Kashmir Policy Research Institute in collaboration with the Kashmir Women Alert Forum. Addressing the workshop, All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir Secretary General Pervez Advocate said that it is the responsibility and duty of the people of Azad Kashmir to become the voice of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir because the voice of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir is being suppressed by India at the point of gunfire.

There are currently 1 million Indian troops deployed in occupied Kashmir, through which India has usurped all the rights of Kashmiris. Currently, 5,000 Kashmiris, including Hurriyat leaders, are imprisoned in various jails in India, including women. The fault of these arrested Kashmiris is that they are raising their voices for the right to self-determination in accordance with the resolutions passed by the United Nations.

India has started efforts to change the population ratio in occupied Kashmir on the lines of Israel, but it will not succeed. Kashmiris must unite and organize to thwart all of India's tactics. India is conspiring to divide Kashmiris ideologically and intellectually. We have also thwarted this tactic of India. The division of Kashmiris in any respect is in India's interest.

Pakistan is the only country in the world that supports the right of self-determination of Kashmiris. Pakistan's stance is to support the right of self-determination of Kashmiris. Pakistan is the only advocate for the ongoing freedom struggle of Kashmiris. The people of Azad Kashmir should participate in the Right to Self-Determination Day rally today on the call of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference and tell the world, including India, that the entire Kashmiri nation is united in its demand for the right to self-determination.

India is using all tactics to weaken the Kashmir freedom movement. Kashmiris should demonstrate unity and consensus and thwart these tactics. The workshop was also addressed by All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Director Kashmir Policy Research Institute Dr. Raja Muhammad Sajjad Khan, Chairperson Kashmir Women Alert Forum Ms. Samia Sajid, Advocate Razia Ashraf, Zeesham Mumtaz, Amna Zahoor and others.

The workshop was attended by women from different schools of thought. Addressing the workshop, Director Kashmir Policy Research Institute Dr. Raja Muhammad Sajjad Khan said that KPRI is the first think tank of Azad Kashmir which is conducting research work on the constitutional, political and legal aspects of the Kashmir issue and is striving to promote research culture within Azad Kashmir.

A certified research journal called International Journal of Kashmir Studies is also being published under the auspices of the institute. The institute is also organizing workshops and seminars on various topics along with the annual internship program. Addressing the women’s workshop, Dr. Raja Muhammad Sajjad Khan shed detailed light on the constitutional, political, historical and geographical aspects of the Kashmir issue and the role of the United Nations in resolving the conflict.

Dr. Raja Muhammad Sajjad Khan further said that the Kashmir issue is an internationally recognized dispute which has legal status. As long as this issue is present in the United Nations, no country can end this issue. The United Nations has recognized the right of Kashmiris to self-determination and no country can take this right away from the Kashmiris. He said that India has currently turned Kashmir into an open human prison.

The voice of the Kashmiris engaged in the freedom struggle is also imprisoned. In such circumstances, it is the responsibility of the people of Azad Kashmir to become the voice of the people of occupied Kashmir and expose the real face of India by informing the world about the facts. At this time, it is our duty to become the voice of the forced and helpless brothers on the other side and associate ourselves with the Kashmir issue. The entire Kashmiri nation is unanimous in demanding the right of self-determination.

We have to move forward while maintaining this unity. The more united and organized the Kashmiris are, the closer their destination will be. India is currently conspiring to divide the thoughts and opinions of Kashmiris. We have to thwart this dangerous conspiracy of India with all our might. After August 5, 2019, India is trying to change the population ratio in Kashmir on the lines of Israel, but despite all the tactics, it will not be able to succeed, nor will the Kashmiris allow it to succeed.
