 Federal Interior Minister meets Maulana Fazlur Rehman, discusses issues of mutual interest and overall situation in the country, Interior Minister expresses best wishes for JUI-F chief's health

Islamabad (UrduPoint News Today- 10th January 2025) Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Maulana Fazlur Rehman and inquired about his well-being. In the meeting held at Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence, the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and the overall situation in the country. The Federal Interior Minister reached the residence of the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) to meet him, where Maulana Fazlur Rehman welcomed him.


Mohsin Naqvi expressed his best wishes regarding Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s health. Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s positive role in Pakistani politics is commendable. The meeting between the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including the overall situation in the country, while steps to establish peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially Kurram, were also discussed in the meeting.


Mohsin Naqvi and Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed satisfaction over the arrival of relief convoys in Parachinar. During the conversation, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has been in need for a long time. The positive role of the JUI-F chief in Pakistani politics is commendable. He said that all stakeholders were taken into confidence for the establishment of peace in Kurram.

Some elements deliberately distorted the Kurram issue. Mohsin Naqvi said that he appreciates the sincere efforts of the Grand Jirga to improve the situation. It may be recalled that earlier, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had said that terrorism was a global problem. The international community must work together to formulate a plan of action for the complete eradication of terrorism, no one will be allowed to stay in Pakistan illegally.

US Ambassador Donald Bloom had a farewell meeting with the Federal Interior Minister. Federal Interior Secretary Khurram Ali Agha and US Deputy Head of Mission Natalie Baker were also present on the occasion. The two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and Pak-US relations. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the services of the US Ambassador for the promotion of Pak-US relations and also expressed his best wishes for Donald Bloom. Talking to Mohsin Naqvi, US Ambassador Donald Bloom said that he had received full support from all institutions during his deployment in Pakistan. The US Ambassador had condemned the recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan.
