December 29, 2024) Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, while issuing a white paper regarding the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, has said that extreme corruption has been seen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 10 months. Financial irregularities worth Rs 152 billion have come to light in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including fraudulent payments of Rs 13.2 crore. Money is given to social media volunteers by creating fictitious companies in the DGPR and the Information Department. These companies do not exist, they only exist on paper. They do not even have an office. My heart is saddened by what is happening in Kurram. When Kurram needed you the most, you were in Islamabad. Addressing a press conference, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that financial irregularities worth Rs 152 billion have come to light in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including fraudulent payments of Rs 132 million. He claimed that money is being given to social media volunteers by creating fake companies in the DGPR and the Information Department. These companies do not exist, they only exist on paper. They do not even have an office, but they are being given money in the form of advertisements, which is later used for social media trolling and campaigns by anti-state elements. He said that Rs 84 billion was spent on miscellaneous expenses, meaning that money was allocated for health, but it was used to attack the federal government during the sit-in, and money was spent on many issues that did not exist. He asked why the Punjab Kidney Liver Institute was established but Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital is still in a dilapidated condition, because if Rs 400 million is received for the upgrading of Lady Reading, it is transferred to some other department in the same social sector. He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has done nothing but promote corruption, those who called Metrobus a jungle bus built BRT in Peshawar, financial corruption has increased in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, suspicious payments of Rs 51 crore are being made in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the debt burden of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is Rs 725 billion. Attaullah Tarar said that the founder of PTI also admitted that the economy is recovering, those who give us advice have zero performance, work for the people, stop playing political games, he made it clear that the purpose of the negotiations is not to give NRO to anyone. He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government wants to subordinate the universities, teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa universities are not being paid salaries, if there were police reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the law and order situation would have deteriorated, you brought back the Taliban because you were friends.
