They are investigating several incidents of violence and unrest, including incidents related to May 9.

According to the ISPR, on August 12, 2024, Field General Court Martial proceedings were initiated against Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed under the relevant provisions of the Pakistan Army Act. Faiz Hameed has been formally charged in the next phase of the Field General Court Martial. These charges include involvement in political activities, harming the security and interest of the state by violating the Official Secrets Act.

A separate investigation is also being conducted into the involvement of Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed in the violent incidents related to chaos and unrest in the country during the Field General Court Martial process. The investigation also includes incidents related to May 9 among these violent and unrest incidents. During the Field General Court Martial process, Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed is being provided with all legal rights.
